The team at Lang Construction successfully delivered the Long Shot café fitout at Collins Square, within a tight 12-week programme. Works included the installation of structural steel to allow the demolition of the existing café’s internal walls, all of which had to be carried out “out of hours” to minimise impact on the operational Retail plaza surrounding the site & the fully occupied Commercial Tower above.
Fitout of the tenancy proceeded with well communicated co-ordination from the Lang foreman with Walker & Collins Square Management, for deliveries of materials / equipment & access to back of house areas & other tenant’s spaces, for services connections. On site coordination & attention to detail by the site foreman was impeccable & has resulted in a high quality level of finish, which is appreciated by Walker, with this being a prominent retail tenancy at the Collins Square development.
Long lead times for materials / fixtures, etc. that came from abroad or simply had long manufacture times, were well managed to ensure the PC date was achieved & where problems arose (on one occurrence, a supplier shipped the wrong coloured materials), the Lang team acted quickly to resolve the issue & continued working in other areas of the fitout, to maintain programme.
The Lang Construction team were always accommodating of design changes that were implemented as construction was underway, showing a can-do attitude & finding a way to deliver the Walker vision.
